Cassidy: Where was it, I couldn't hear it anymore. I just stood panting for a minute. It had to be here somewhere. I couldn't of made that sound up. There was nothing more distinctive then a wolf pup whimpering for food. But I couldn't tell where it was, I couldn't even hear it anymore. Maybe I did make it up. I shook my head a little, and turned back and started walking in the direction of te mansion. But there it was again. It was defiantly there. I turned and ran towards the noise before I lost it again.

Obviously, she didn't answer my question. Well, what did you expect, Rowan? After a while of standing there tensely, ears pricked forward, but hackles not raised - good, that meant she probably hadn't heard anything dangerous - she turned away. But then I heard a whine from the trees a little to the left of where Cassidy had been staring. As soon as she heard it, she turned back and started running towards the noise, exhaustion forgotten. With a shout - she seemed to have forgotten me entirely - I ran after her.

In the game I was doing with my friend I got to the part where you met Mario. In this game we're delivering our dad's messages to all the shady people.

So he was an ancient. "I'm sorry," I said. Then after a pause: "You watch over this place?" This with newfound admiration for the boy - shaped immortal person. 'Caretaker' didn't seem like the right name for him, somehow. "Hey - what's your real name?" Out of the corner of my eye, I registered the couple laughing and pointing at me, still. What was I doing that was so odd? It was as if - Then realization crashed over my head like a wave. They couldn't see him. Of course - he was a Caretaker.

Cassidy: I skidded to a stop when the pup came into view. It was curled up under a willow tree, bye the edge of a river. It was dripping wet, and shivering. I took a step forward, then stopped and took a couple back. My hackles raised slightly as I looked around. I couldn't just go up to it, because if the mother returned it would attack without thinking. I had to make sure it's mothers wasn't coming back.

I crashed through the woods after Cassidy, running as fast as I could, but she drew steadily ahead of me. Just when I thought I was going to lose her, she skidded to a stop in front of me, staring at something in a small clearing. I looked at where she was looking, but didn't see anything. "What -" I started to ask, but she silenced me with a growl. I looked again. Then I saw it. A tiny wolf pup, dripping wet and shivering, was lying by a tree next to the creek.
