The House Of Immortality

He was abandoned, lost in a busy shopping mall when he was little over three years old, his young mother had sat him on a chair outside a pharmacy and simply walked away. A woman working in the pharmacy had noticed some people in the shop staring through the window and curiosity got the better of her so she went to see what was going on, and she saw a crying child huddled in very little clothing completely alone. She watched as a few people tried to approach the child, but everytime they attempted to touch him he'd let off an agonising scream that had them backing off and looking on with concern, unsure of what to do. Eventually she went out herself and tried to console the child and figure out what was wrong, and all she could make out from his undeveloped speech was "hurts... Pins hurt..." which he kept repeating over and over, although she couldn't see any wounds on him. Unable to do anything herself she asked around about a parent, and when one couldn't be found she called an ambulance and the child was examined and rushed off to hospital. Later it was figured out that he'd been trying to use the phrase 'pins and needles' to express the pain he felt in his feet, lower legs and fingers. Numerous tests were run, and whilst they were trying to figure out what was wrong they also called in a social worker since the child had been abandoned. The gave the boy stuff for the pain, and tried to get him adopted although it was hard to find a couple/person that wanted a child with an unknown medical problem. Eventually after a year bouncing between care and the hospital a couple who were told they couldn't have children adopted him, saying that a child going through the pain he was at least deserved a family to help him through. It was a rough adoption process, where he also finally got diagnosed with Idiopathic Neuropathy by which point the pain had spread to his whole arms and legs and although it had become managable during the day the pain got substantially worse at night. They went through a number treatments that had a possibility of helping with his condition, and when they finally found one they thought was working they were let down again because his condition had altered and his 'pins and needles' gave way to numbness. As the years progressed he lost all feeling altogether, only retaining a faint feel for temperature change which was lucky for him because studies had shown that once that was lost the sweat glands couldn't function properly which caused all sorts of internal medical problems. But he was happy with his family, they treated him well and looked after him as their own, going through the tough processes with him all whilst trying to cling on to the small hope they'd beeb given of conceiving a child of their own with the help of medical proceedures. His life wasn't ever normal though, he was constantly in and out of the hospitals with injuries such as burns he'd recieved from not being able to feel just how hot things were, and he was bullied through school, people contantly stabbing him with pins and things to see whether he could genuinely feel it etc... When he was 9 his adopted mother finally fell pregnant and they had a child of there own. He loved his family dearly, and was practically joint to his sister, but as he grew older he began to understand how much his parents were stuggling despite them not showing it. Melissa and Tilly had their own medical problems and they were still trying to find a treatment for him, so when he turned 16 he moved out. It was dangerous in a way, no longer having someone around to warn him when he was injuring himself and also trying to work and complete his studies. But he managed it with the help of Rachel (woman from the pharmacy who'd stayed in touch) and now at 21 he was sick of being the outcast and constantly being hurt, so he'd traveled to the mansion that he'd heard rumours of.
