((*Clears throat.*))

After checking in the woods for Nick for almost 12 hours, I had returned to my room just as the tears had started to fall. Now I was just tired, tired from running around, tired from the crying... But there was a knock on the door and, despite my lack of energy, I got up and answered it. Pausing wide-eyed when I saw Nick, covered in cuts and bruises. "Oh. My. Gosh." He looked as if he had been in a fight or something! "What the heck happened?!" I stood out of the way so that Nick could come in, not bothering to hug him, no matter how much I had missed him, because I knew it would just hurt his wounds more.

Mommy even heard that! Kiara swore she could never talk around vampires, they'd just hear everything! She turned around and stuck her tongue out playfully and then continued walking alongside her friend.

I chuckled slightly as I watched Lucy and Kiara listen to what the other was saying, even though Kiara was far away from us. Vampires could be rather fascinating at times. "Well, I guess she's given it away now, anyway, whic means we'll have to be extra careful not to swear or say anything bad around her."

Max: I give a weak smile and wrap my arms around her waist. "How ya doin?"

Nick: "Oh uh...Ya know.... the guys." I shrug and smile. But the smile was off. I was so tired and hurt by then I was literally in an insane state like I was high or something. I walk in with a pep in my step looking happy (and dumb) as ever.

Max: "I'm good." I smile. It probably looked normal to other people but to me it felt like I was a smiling, lying snake.

"O...k..." Something was deffinately wrong wrong wih Nick and it made me worried, but I couldn't worry right now, I need to focus. After making Nick sit on the bed, I rushed into the bathroom and grabbed my damp washcloth before comig back in and starting to dab Nick's wounds with it, cleaning the bloid away. I suddenly realised his shirt had blood all over it and I didn't want the blood to get on my bed so, in an almost commanding voice, I said "Shirt off. Now." I was mature enough that I'd be able to look at his chest without drooling.

Kiara walked into the mansion and waited for her parents.

We work. Well, I wasn't exactly sure about that, but I was going to try and make it work. As we took the last couple of steps towards the mansion, I asked "What should we do now?" I usually tried to do as much as I could with Kiara each day, know that keeping her entertained was an important part of being a good father.

Nick: "Jeeze pushy." I take my shirt off and hang it from my finger, looking at it. It was all red. I coulda sworn I put on a white shirt. But whatever. Doesn't matter really, any color's fine right?

"Well perhaps we should put Kiara to bed and then watch a movie or something, just the two of us." I suggested, giving our hands a gentle squeezed as we entered the huge building we called home.

"Awwww!" Kiara whined, trying her best not to yawn. "But I don't want to go to bed. I want to spend more time with you!"

"Pushy because you're the idiot who got hurt." I countered, wiping the smears off blood off of his chest, trying to make Nick perfect again - well, almost perfect, since he'd still have cuts and bruises, but at least he'd be clean. "Look Nick, I really care about you, but you've got to be more careful. I don't like seeing you wounded like this."

I sighed and rolled my eyes a little, but I was smiling as I did so. Since Nick had his arms open directly in front of him, it seemed as if the best way to hug him was to sit on his lap. So I did, I sat on Nick's lap and curled my arms around his waist, resting my head on his shoulder. "You're such a little kid sometimes." I commented with a chuckle, raising my head to kiss my boyfriend's cheek before resting it on his shoulder once more.

"B-But..."

As Kiara started to protest again, I picked her up, placing her on my shoulders and holding her legs so that she wouldn't fall. "Come on princess, you need your sleep." I started heading upstairs with a laugh little girl leaning against my head.

Kiara giggled and folded her arms on top of Daddy's head. "Ok ok, I'll go to bed Daddy!" She squealed as she laughed.
