Re: The House Of Immortality
I didn't attend breakfast with my family, even though I usually did and probably should've. Instead, I was in the mansion's vast library with Snowball, reading up all I could on Mathematics and teaching, trying to figure out how to combine the two so that I could teach Maths effieciently when the new school opened. As I sat at a table, books sprawled open at random pages in front of me, Snowball lay at my feet, probably dozing off now that she was away from her playmate, Hope, and my noisy baby half-brother. Poor girl but hey, at least she'd managed to escape the family chaos for a couple of hours, just like me, and at least I had some quieter company.
Well, now that Dilynn's horse was broken in and both she and Ol' Dusty had travelled across the country to come and live in the stables here, I was gonna give Dilynn her first riding lesson. Before all that, though, I went through the basics of brushing, hoof care and how to put the tack on the horse properly, then led the horses out of the stables with her. Once outside, I helped my girlfriend onto her horse, then got onto my own, beginning the lesson. "Ok, so the basics really is to tap the horse's stomach with your heels to tell it to go and gently - gently - pull back on the reins to get it stop. To steer left you ease the reins on the left back and tap with your right foot, and then it's the opposite to go right. You've kinda gotta sit up and down in rhythm with the horse's movements - it's kinda hard to explain, sitting up and down is basically what you're doing - otherwise it'll hurt their back and to speed up or slow down you just kinda change the speed of which you sit up and down to change the horse's rhythm... If that makes sense." I did to me, but I had been doing this for years, whereas Dilynn was pretty darn new to this... Maybe I should offer a demonstration... "Do you need me to demonstrate anything or are you just gonna go for it, Darlin'?"
I was the first to wake up today, my hand instantly reaching up to my mom's ring. Only it wasn't there! I started having a panic attack glancing around the room to see if I could spot it. It took a while for me to realise Sierra was wearing it, then I smiled as I remembered why. Oh yeah, the proposal! I grinned as the images returned, my heartbeat steadying itself again as I careful traced a finger over the ring. We were going to get married! Sometime in the future she'd become Sierra Strife, my wife, and we were gonna spend the rest of our - well, my - lifetime together! I decided to let my fiancée - wow, that felt amazing to say! - sleep a little longer, carefully sneaking out of the bed and into the bathroom so that I could attempt a quiet shower while I waited for Sierra to wake up.
We could've planned the pregnancy - there were tests you could take to figure out when your best chance of getting pregnant was - but after planning a wedding, I wanted to be a little spontaneous for once. "I think we should just wing it." I told my husband, eating a bit more of my pancakes and mixing the berry juice with the Greek yogurt as I swallowed. "I mean, we'd basically be planning when to fade and wouldn't that take the fun out of it?" Thinking it over in my head, I quickly added. "Lets wait a couple days, though. I've gotta stop taking the pill if we're being serious, so give me a couple days to get the pill out of my system and then we can try for a child." We were actually going to do this! If all went well, we'd have a son or daughter within the next year! With was so exciting and it was giving me butterflies, but I tried not to act like a giggly giddy teenager and keep calm as I continued the conversation. "As for the gym, you can go as much as you want for as long as you want, as long as you shower afterwards, otherwise I'll refuse to touch you." Not in a cruel way, of course, I just... I just couldn't handle sweat and wouldn't want to touch a sweaty guy, that's all.
It was my birthday today and I had no idea what was gonna happen. I hadn't really planned a party because I'd been too caught up in life, and I hadn't heard anything from my sister and boyfriend. One thing I did know, though, was that I was legally old enough to adopt! Woop woop! Ever since Kyle and I started getting serious, I had told myself I wanted two children, one adopted and one biologically ours and now I was old enough to complete half of that little dream! I hadn't actually talked to Kylie Kyle much about kids and adoption, though, so I decided I'd tell him about it today... Once he woke up, that is. At first I was patient, mostly because I had to wait for my medication to kick in, but then my patience ran out. Moving to sit on top of my boyfriend, I rested my hands on his chest and leaned in close to his face. "Kyyyle. Kyyyyyyyyylllllle!" I think I sounded like a wailing cat - ugh, I hated cats - but oh well, whatever woke him up! "KYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLE!"
I didn't sleep - I never did - I just closed my eyes and let my mind go blank. It took a long time, since there was so much on my mind now that Alix had come back, plus the fact that my girlfriend was murmuring something in her sleep, but I eventually managed it. It was kinda like being under a trance, only I was fully aware of everything going on around me. I didn't snap out of it until the light shone through my curtains and right onto my face. Groaning a little, I opened my eyes and carefully fixed the curtains so that the light didn't blind me, then looked down at the redhead beside me. Awww, she looked so cute in her sleep! Now if only she'd wake up by herself soon, because I didn't want to wake her up with my movements, but I didn't want to just sit here for ages either!
"An adventurous couple?" My eyes widened. "Wait, don't answer that." I laughed awkwardly, then left the kitchen, heading up the stairs. "I wouldn't blame you for moving rooms, I probably would in that situation, too. Luckily I have pretty quiet neighbours either side of me, so I don't have to worry about that." Once we entered my room, Jotunn made his way over to the chaise lounge and curled up on it. I swear, I was gonna lose the chaise to that cat, he seemed to really love it. "So, yeah, this is my room." I told Cat, glancing aroundat the fancy furniture for a moment before making my way over to the vanity where my phone was resting. "It's... Not like the other rooms here, but I felt a little homesick and, well, Caius tried to make it seem a bit more like home, I guess." Picking up my phone, I pushed the right buttons to display my number, then handed it to Cat. "Here, put it into your phone." I smiled.
I think I was starting to get used to this whole boyfriend-but-not-technically-her-boyfriend routine, and that scared me. I didn't want to be a not-boyfriend, I wanted things to go back to the way they used to be! I wanted to be able to kiss Nathalie, take her on dates, tell her that I loved her and, in time, go back to spending the night with her and fading with her! I just wanted my girlfriend back, even if she was a little different from before. With that in mind, I made Nathalie breakfast in bed, just to get her in a good enough mood to at least consider trying to work this out. I even put a rose on the tray just to give a little hint at where I wanted things to go! I walked up to her room with the fried breakfast - vegetarian sausages and no bacon, of course - and knocked on the door with my foot, unable to open it while holding the tray. "Nat! Open up! Special delivery!" I called, taking a deep breath and holding it as I desperately waited for the Inu to answer.
He was awake! Oh thank goodness! Luna clutched the fabric of Jack's pyjama top tightly as she allowed the sobs to continue for a moment, trying to let the soothing touch of his hand calm her. Once she had calmed enough to stop crying, she sniffed and started explaining herself, trying to keep her voice low for the sleeping Alex's sake. "I-I had a nightmare. The- The bad Jack came back and tried to get me, a-and he hurt you, too! H-He keeps showing up in my dreams and I-I'm scared. I don't want him to come back!" She mumbled, shivering but not because of her abnormally cold guardian.
"Hmmm... I guess I'll just have to experience it for myself." I murmured, glancing around and spotting a nice little cafe with outdoor seating which I guided my daughter to. "I'm not sure about this woman he is dating, though - this 'Queen Elsa." I explained as I finally returned Lilly's tophat, pulling out a chair for her to sit in. "I mean, she is nice to have set up the trip to the baseball game but... When I had a private conversation with her, she threatened to hurt me, and I don't think an angel such as Justin should be around someone who threatens others..." Frowning, I tucked Lilly's chair in, then sat down opposite her, fixing her with a serious gaze. "Liliya, tell me, do you know if this woman is a good person? If she is right for Justin?" I knew that my daughter liked to snoop around in the record hall from time to time so perhaps she had done some research on Justin's partner.
Well the walked had started off nice, at least, with Holland saying how much she hated the nickname and me smirking playfully. "I know you hate the nickname, that's why, when you realize you were wrong, you have to deal with it for two whole weeks; losing doesn't ever come with good consequences, y'know." And besides, two weeks to call my non-girly girlfriend by the most cutesy nickname I could think of? That would just be epic, especially when I saw her reaction whenever I used it.
But then Holland had to bring up a hypothetical pregnancy and everything went completely downhill. It sounded like she wanted to keep the hypothetical kid, but I could only think of the danger we'd be putting it in with we did - it was all I had ever been able to think about for about 3-4 years now. I didn't meet Holland's gaze, I could only look down at my feet as I tried to come up with an answer. "Hypothetically... I don't know..." That was the best answer I could give. No yes, no no, just an 'I don't know' because I really didn't. "I mean, the hypothetical kid's gonna get a double helping of messed up from both of us and that's already bad enough, but then it'll have to deal with me." I knew that Holland cared for me and all, but she must've realized just how violent I can get! "I- I can't control myself yet, not entirely. I could end up yelling and verbally abusing the kid, physically abusing the kid, throw something at it... It's just not safe to have a kid around me..." But at the same time I was worried that not keeping the hypothetical kid would make Holland upset, and if she decided to keep it anyway, I'd have to keep my distance, and that could do damage to our relationship, which was really the last thing I ever wanted. Geez, if this crazy theory was true - which I was sure it wasn't, and I was hoping it wasn't - then we had gotten ourselves into the biggest mess possible. Why did all the bad things always happen to me just as I had finally become happy with my life?
Ok, maybe given Sora her first shuriken had been a bad idea, especially when the first thing she did was run straight towards Kennedy's room with it! I had gotten my first shuriken when I was 5 so I thought that Sora would be ok, but as soon as she ran off I realized that my daughter was a lot more energetic than me. And I hadn't yet told her the do's and don't's of owning her first weapon! "Kenny! Kenny!" I could hear her down the hall, disappearing up the stairs and it snapped me out of my shocked state. Oh gosh, if she tried throwing that thing in Kennedy's room... Bursting out of my room, I started chasig my daughter upstairs yelling, "Sora! Don't you dare throw it!" I should've caught up by now but she was no where in sight. That was when I realized she must've used teleportation and I sped up even more. By the time I swung open Kennedy's door, I was breathing heavily. In the corner of the room, thanfully with her shuriken in hand, was Sora doing some sort of happy dance. "Look, Kenny!" She waved the shuriken about. My heart lurched out of my chest, worried she'd accidentally fling it. "It's mine!"

- Justin's post:
- I was so relaxed in that moment that I actually managed to forget that I was meant to be blocking out Elsa's thoughts and letting her be 'Mysterious Elsa'. As soon as the mental wall came down, I was shocked at what I heard in her thoughts. She didn't want to be Queen anymore? Because of me - because she wanted to stay here with me? No, that wasn't right. That wasn't right at all! I put the wall back up before I could hear anything else, answering her spoken words with a weak, "Mhmm, there's still hope." Before I returned to keeping an eye on the chicken. In a moment of silence, I tried to respect Elsa's private thoughts and not say anything, but how was I supposed to keep quiet on this? It wasn't like the baby conversation where she could change her opinion at any time; if Elsa gave up the crown, there'd be no going back, even if she wanted to.
"Elsa, you can't give up the throne." My words came out before I could think it through and instantly guilt washed over me. "I'm sorry, I know I'm not supposed to read your thoughts, I just slipped up and overheard." But now there was no going back so I may as well lecture her. "You haven't even tried being Queen yet and your ready to throw in the towel! Who knows, you might end up liking it, you might end up changing Arendelle for the better, but you wont be able to do that if you quit." Taking a breath, I took the cooked chicken off of the heat and turned back to my girlfriend, leaning back against the counter as I continued. "Look, I may not know much about being a ruler, but I know that if you don't rule not only will Arendelle be disappointed, your family will be, too; Anna and your parents, and even me. If you want more moments like this we can create them, we'll... I dunno, we'll dismiss the chefs from the kitchen and make our own meals, we'll cuddle up in a private room at night, just the two of us, but I think you'll really regret it if you don't rule Arendelle. You have a chance to make a change in the kingdom you grew up in, are you really gonna give up all that for... This?"
With a final gesture around my small apartment, my lecture ended, and then I realised that my tone of voice had made it sound like a rant. Gosh, I was an idiot, but it wasn't as if I could take it all back and I didn't want to, I just wish I hadn't sounded so harsh about it. "I'm sorry." I apologized for the second time in a couple minutes, handing the bag of pasta to Elsa once I realized that the water had boiled. "I just couldn't keep quiet about something like this..."

You'll have apologise to Taylor, not me.

Re: The House Of Immortality

Re: The House Of Immortality
Kyle: I was already half awake when Taylor started screaming my name, pretty much. I smirked a little, "Ugh Taylooooor! Let me sleep please. It's my day off!" I turned over and pretended to go back to sleep like I had forgotten her birthday. Of course, I hadn't. I just thought it could be a little bit of fun. I hadn't physically gotten her a card or a present, well, I kinda had. I was taking her out to dinner tonight, I already had the place booked and set. We had to be there at 6:30. I had left Nathalie with the job of taking a balloon and cake up there in advance since I had to bring it in. I know that Nathalie had baked the cake so that was probably her present to Taylor.

Was he really going back to sleep? Oooh he was in trouble! "No! Bad Kyle!" I exclaimed, putting my full weight on top if my boyfriend and tugging on his ear with my teeth in an attempt to wake him up. "Come oooon!" That tactic wasn't working, so I decided to just speak loudly in his ear instead. "The birthday girl wants to have a serious conversation!" Did he even remember that it was my birthday? He was acting like he didn't have a clue! I mean, if he knew, he would've gotten up straight away to give me 18th birthday kisses, right?

*Walks in and heads straight upstairs to Rose's room, flopping right on top of her in bed and hiding her face in her friend's shoulder.* Holland's sick. I hate her being sicl. Why does she have to be sick? DX
