I walked down the stairs, holding my son in one arm and holding onto the railing with another. He was already getting so big! I mean of course I expected him to grow fairly quickly but not as much as he had already. But I guess this is how these things go. It probably had something to do with him being a vampire like my wife and I though. After reaching the bottom of the stairs and rearranging alexandr in my arms I walked into the living room to see another man paying with who I figured was his son. It reminded me of what I did with my son. "They grow up fast huh?"

Alexander was in his father's arms, playing with his face cutely, Since his mother was working, he had to stay with his daddy for a bit. He then looked over at the other baby who was being held by their daddy. He giggled softly

"Indeed they do." I answered, my proud gaze remaining on Arthur as he played with the little toys daging from his The Lion King play mat. "Perhaps too fast. Their lives will flash before our very eyes and, before we can even learn how to raise them without making any mistakes, they reach adulthood and... And no longer need us." My thoughts turned from Arthur to Kiara for a moment as I dwelled on my own words, then I decided to shake the thoughts away before I could depress whoever had spoken and finally turned my full attention to them, finding a blonde-haired man, perhaps a little younger than I, looking down at us, holding a child whom I assumed to be his in his arms. "Is this your first child?" I asked curiously, looking up at the child who seemed to not notice I was even there; he was too curious about my own son, it seemed.

"Well maybe it's meant to be more of a lesson for us as we learn how to raise them. I mean no parent is ever going to get everything they can right. That's just not possible. Maybe our mistakes help our children. It could teach and prepare them for how they'll handle things when they have children." I looked over to Alexander who seemed very keen on pulling at my hair and cheeks. He was always doing cute little things such as this. Chuckling, I ruffle his hair and turn back to the other man. "Yup he's my one and only. I don't think I could handle more than one child."

I couldn't help but chuckle as the man commented on how he thought he'd never be able to handle more than one child. "Trust me, I felt the same way, and then I wound up having 3 children. Well, 4 if you include my fianceé's son. I consider myself lucky that my two daughters are more than willing to help with their siblings, as well as my oldest's boyfriend, otherwise I doubt Ryan and I would've been able to cope." It was then, as Arthur attempted getting up and let out a short cry when he failed, that I remembered my manners. "Oh!" I exclaimed as I picked my son up and rose to my feet, holding my hand out for a handshake. "I'm Joe, by the way, and this young fellow is my wonderful son, Arthur. And perhas you're right about our mistakes as parents; perhaps our children can learn from them. I certainly jope that my daughters learn from my mistakes, at least."

I shake his hand firmly and smile. "I'm cayden and this here." I poke my sons cheek. "Is my son Alexander." I looked at Arthur who seemed very content in Joe's arms. Were my son and I like that? Maybe not. "Maybe Arthur and Alexander can have a play date some time. It's good for children to socialize with other people their own age."
