'S'nice to see you too!' My daughter replied, though I was pretty sure she didn't really remember Tifa that well since she was just a baby when they last met. Still, the fact that she was attempting conversation anyway was great! "You just decided to randomly come all the way to Wutai, huh? You must be crazy, or desperately lonely. Has Cloud p***ed you off? Been deprived you of sex? He must've done something bad if you just jumped on a plane and came out here." I had a funny feeling that Tifa was staying for a while - maybe a week - too, by the look of her bags which kinda sucked and was kinda good at the same time; she was going to be here for the anniversary of my mom's death and while I'd probably need someone to look after Sora that day, I didn't really want Tifa to see me cry. I wasn't about to push my friend away though so, with a, "Here, I'll take your bags for you." I swapped Sora for the luggage and started crying the bags through the living room and into Toby's old room. Geez, did Tifa even know about Hayden and Toby disappearing? Well, if she didn't, I guess she was about to find out...

Tifa laughed softly "none of that. I just wanted to see my best friend who's just too far away from us. Becides, we wouldnt be friends anymore if I didnt come. We'd just be very distant friends, nothing more. So to keep this friendship going, I came here. But I also wanted to spend time with my best friend." she stated, holding Sora as yuffie took the bags. Smiling softly at sora, she followed yuffie "Wait a minute...Wasnt this room occupied one time?"

Ohhh, so this was a friendship-saving visit, huh? I smiled at thn, then frowned as Tifa pointed out the lack of a person in the guess room. "Uhh, yeah, it was occupied, but now it isn't." I explained simply, hoping Tifa got the hint because I didn't want to explain how I was a single mom now. Setting the bags in the room, I closed the door and looked to Tifa, thinking up a change of subject. "So, uh, the flight must've taken a while, do you need somethig to eat or drink or something?" I asked, walking over to ruffle Sora's hair. "You could probably do with some food too, huh, kiddo?" My daughter nodded at me, still smiley despite the suddenly sadder atmosphere. 'Me and my friend want cookies!' Yes, of course cookies would be the answer from my kid.

Tifa narrowed her eyes a bit and spoke "Yuffie, what happened." she said "And dont tell me nothing." knowing her, she'd try to lie her way out just so she wasnt on the subject. But Tifa wanted to know. "What happened with both your fiance and part-kid." she was sure they got married...

Yuffie and Hayden never got married, they were just engaged! Rose is the last person I need right now -_-

She really wasn't gonna let this go, was she? I was actually having to blink back tears because for months I had been avoiding this topic and now I was being forced to bring it up. "They left, ok?" That came out a little tougher than I had meant to. And in front of Sora, too. I took a deep breath, then repeated myself. "They left. They just disappeared over 6 months ago and haven't been back since." I just didn't want to bring this up. I didn't want pity or comfort or 'I'm sorry's, I just wanted to forget it ever happened, that he ever existed. Perhaps it was a childish and dumb*ss way to think about things, especially since Sora was a constant reminder that Hayden did exist, but if I didn't think about him, I wouldn't break down. Taking a deep breath, I left the living room and headed into the kitchen to get the cookies Sora wanted, returning and handing her a bowl of them. I could see tears in her eyes. F***, she'd understood that we were talking about her dad. Heaving a sigh, I took Sora and the cookies away from my AVALANCHE friend, hugging my daughter close to me as I went to put a movie on the tv, if only to keep her distracted enough to not burst into tears.

Tifa sighed softly. Who kknew he wouldleave her? They were in love and everything. Even had a baby. Something wasnt right at all and she felt bad. Apparently Sora had figured out what we were talking about and almost started crying. But Yuffie quickly took care of it "Yuffie i'll talk with you alone.."

It's really not Abby's fault for how she feels. Sometimes you really can't control your emotions.

And I think it is Rose's fault. She 'didn't know' if she could make time just to see her girlfriend!

Both of you are wrong so just shut up. *Her eyes start filling with tears.* If you really must know what's up it's the fact the other day I realised that the only reason why she wanted to date me when she was so determined to 'Continue the bloodline' - why any woman would do that - is because I was just something to pass the time until she was old enough for kids, *The tears start falling.* And I just feel so so stupid for thinking our relationship could ever possibly mean more than that! *Heads outside and into the forest to cry, since she'd rather not cry in front if people.* O.o Well... That happened...

Great, now she wanted to talk privately about this? I sighed, leaving Sora to watch the Tinkerbell movie I had put on, then returned to the kitchen, knowing Tifa was smart enough to follow me. "There's nothing to talk about." I told her as I grabbed two cups from a cabinet and went to the fridge to grab some Coca Cola. "I don't even know why they left - things were going great - it just... Happened." Pouring the Coca Cola, I handed one glass to Tifa and hopped up onto a stool at the island. "I've been coping fine with Sora now - I've made some friends who have been helping me out - it was just tough to begin with, especially when Sora would ask where her daddy had gone and I had absolutely no idea what to tell her." What would you tell your two year old kid? 'Daddy left'? 'Daddy doesn't love us anymore'? I hadn't even answered her question, she had just learnt not to bother asking.
